Like someone pointed out to me a few days ago, Meru is the wild, wild west. Maybe due to the continuous use of khat and other leafy substances, or could be a result of a tough headed people who listen to no one else other than the voices in their heads. Whatever the case, people in Meru have proved their craziness on numerous occasions and shown us that in these tough economic times you do not even have to pay for netflix et Al because you know, we have enough comedy coming from those sides.
Just a day after writing about the evolved Nairobi woman in http://sunsetinafrica.co.ke/nairobi-the-city-of-tears-and-chest-pains/ and how men are busy eating humble pie out here, a Meru woman comes along and requests us to hold her beer while she schools the rest of her peers on how it’s done.
A man has recently come out to talk about his wife’s philandering ways after he alleges she slept with more than 20 men.
The man from Maua has published a list of these men while claiming – interestingly – that the list is inclusive of and not limited to the names therein. Yaani kiufupi, the number could be higher.

Ambau Gitonga shared the details, complete with the full names and phone numbers of the so called “thieves.” By the way, should we also call them wife snatchers or home wreckers, as is usually the case when it is a married man caught dipping other women’s honey jars? No? Okay.
Here are a few reactions to this whole hilarious yet sad situation.

Meanwhile, imagine going about your daily businesses having a calm day and then boom! Someone calls you to inform you that your husband’s name has been seen on a not-so-decent list somewhere doing the rounds. Before you can even hang up, a number of people have forwarded the list to you and voila! There is his name sited smugly amongst his fellow “rosecoco” shareholders. Fellow sinners.

It’s one thing to be generous. It’s also one thing to be generous while single. But to be generous while married…to be generous to 20 (possibly more) men while still married is taking this whole thirsty situation to new never ascended before heights. I would take a bow and give the lady her standing ovation if I wasn’t still impressed with her non partisan ways. I mean, the list is very inclusive and non discriminatory. There in is a Catholic father and a teacher amongst others, but do you know what’s even more impressive? This lady is not tribal at all. On that list is a Kisii man, a coasterian, a handful of Merus, lots of kikuyus, a luhya and what have you. Listen, if that isn’t inclusive enough for you then I don’t know what else could be. While still on impressive manenos, and while still here giving out standing ovations, let’s not forget to give this husband his medal for being so persevering and forgiving and staying by his wife’s side while she slept with not one or two but twenty different men.

We have been knowing that this world is changing but the speed at which it’s all happening is too fast for us to keep up. Some of us cannot keep up at all.
