For someone that lives in a country where the main reason people take to the streets to riot is an increase in the price of “unga” or other similar issues, I must admit that matters aliens are way beyond my scope of education, or imagination for that matter.
As Africans we have other pressing matters that need our immediate attention like where the next meal is going to come from, or a family member suddenly falling sick to a terminal illness when they don’t have a proper medical cover. Heck, that relative could be you. Matter of fact, anything could come up at any minute, like waking up to a tax increase or your government unceremoniously declaring cuts in your salary for one thing or the other while giving the process a fancy name like “the financial bill.”
In Africa, we don’t have time to worry about aliens because well, they are an alien concept to us.
However, it is a free world where everyone has the right to an opinion as well as the right to be wrong. Therefore, I have the right to air my thoughts, no matter how loud and wrong they could be.
Recently there has been an increase in talk of presence of extraterrestrial life. More intelligence officials in the United States of America have come out to claim there is “overwhelming” evidence of UFOs of “non-human origin” being recovered and studied.
My biggest concern is, At what point do we say enough is enough and differentiate science fiction from fact? I am all for science and research, I truly am. Imagine how fascinating it would be to discover more life outside of our planet, but every single planet the scientists thought was capable of naturing life turned out be vast emptiness. So far, all evidence has been to the contrary. To think of the amount of hope we had in Mars.
Every single sci-fi movie that has been released to date depicts Aliens as these highly intelligent beings with top notch technology that is beyond anything that we’ve ever seen. They are depicted as having technology that enables interstellar travel, traveling the cosmos and technology that can enable them to avoid detection in sub space. So knowledgeable are these beings that they see us humans as easily expendable, we are to them what apes are to us. So if that is the case, what is taking them so long to attack? Why haven’t they colonised us yet? No seriously, why aren’t the aliens here yet?
How come the script is always the same? After all the high speed-undetectable travelling, how come they always crash on earth? Where is the technology to help them navigate their landing? New talk abounds in the intelligence world of UFOs about new non human equipment being found and as usual, as per the same old script, the “plane” the aliens were using crashed on earth. Because, you know, they lacked the knowledge required to land well. Also as per script, they landed in the USA.
So now the officials involved say the US has retrieved craft of non human origin. I have this constant question that always bugs me. How come the aliens almost always only visit the USA? Is it that the rest of the world is boring to them or what? Why are these non human crafts never found anywhere else on planet earth?
Imagine believing US intelligence officials, the same people who lied about the moon landing and almost everything else that comes out of their mouths. The same people that started the Iraqi war over a lie, for their own selfish reasons. Actually, this is the only reason I refuse to believe that aliens are real. I cannot be lied to with my eyes wide open.
All this obsession with aliens makes you wonder what would change in our world if we had evidence of life elsewhere, whose origin we had no idea of.
Then it hit me. It would change everything about religion as we know it. Everything we thought we knew and believed in would be turned upside down. Because then the million dollar question would be, who created the aliens? Would they still be judged like us? Is there a promise of heaven for them too? What are their religious beliefs? Would they view our religion as ridiculous and vice versa? What God do they believe in?
I hope when they finally come (which I personally believe is never happening) they skip Africa for all the tribulations we’ve had to undergo. They can go to the US and the UK and start something like “scramble and petition for Europe,” or whatever. Africa should be left out of their colonisation plans.
Some people argue that since we have been unable to date to explain how the pyramids were built, then they must have been built by aliens. Very interesting, but then how come they didn’t leave behind evidence of their existence? I mean, not a single one? Sounds like clutching at straws to me.
All these claims, all the “overwhelming” evidence but not a single piece of material evidence. In 2023 when we have 10 billion cameras and satellites on earth but not a single video to boost their claims.
A few whistleblowers here and there. Occasionally, someone comes up with a really good story and throws in a blurred image for good measure. And then, voilà! This same guy will now go on radio shows, numerous podcasts and then before you know it he has a number one best seller book out, makes a documentary, raking in the millions while laughing all the way to the bank.
Makes you wonder really, if it’s all about the money. Are claims of aliens driven by economic greed? Although calling it greed is pushing it because at the end of the day everyone does whatever they have to do to make it out of the rat race. If it means feeding into people’s curiosity (and occasional stupidity) then so be it. After all, isn’t that what the movies do?
Other people argue that given the size of the universe, it would be crazy to think that only human beings exist. Honestly I don’t have an answer to that. At the end of the day, aliens could be real. Or they couldn’t be. Those for or against need to table their evidence to support their claims. Personally I don’t think there is extraterrestrial life, but if there is I am all for it. let those mother ships and amazing aircrafts come. Maybe those guys have more humanity that even we humans do. What with all the evil going on in the world.
Who knows, maybe the only reason I am not in a relationship is because my soulmate is an alien.
