During one of those insomniac periods the other night I decided to scroll through social media so as to catch up on the latest gossip and conspiracy theories, which as most of you know happen to be endless. However, Instead of helping me get to sleep, these topics usually have the opposite effect and within no time I was fully awake wondering if the earth is a globe or really is it flat. The deeper I dug, the crazier it got with both sides doing their absolute best to convince me that their side was right. One minute I was sure beyond reasonable doubt that the earth was flat. The next minute, I was admitting to myself that team globe has pretty solid points to back their theory that earth is round. Before I could make my own conclusions I was on my way to the north pole, where a significant number of people were convinced to be vast fertile green land in the Antarctica that the world governments have ganged up into hiding from the rest of us poor folk. In these same lands, -the theories spiraled out of control- walked many real celebrities while their clones roamed on this other side of the world. My head was spinning and I realised at that rate I would never sleep for the next couple of days. So I made a conscious effort to switch off my phone and try closing my eyes to see if they would catch up and offer me some much needed sleep. Just as I was about to execute this little intelligent plan of mine, I came across a video of a certain lady ranting and calling famous people all sorts of name. Just another normal day on social media, I reckoned. Until a stray bullet hit me. Amongst the people to be condemned heavily were a quite an unlikely group. Oppo users.
She went ahead to cry that anyone that uses an oppo phone doesn’t deserve to have an opinion about anything because, according to her, it’s a poor man’s phone with some low quality features.
I paused for a minute and looked at my beautiful sleek Reno 8 with shimmering gold colours and thought to myself, what oppo? Definitely not the one I was holding, a top quality phone with one of the best cameras I’d ever experienced in a phone.
You see before this phone, I had an iPhone and before the iPhone I had another oppo but this one with lower specs than the one I currently have. Even then, the oppo A52020 would still have beaten most of these current top contenders with the resolution of its camera. I love taking photos you see, it’s a hobby of mine that I have become almost obsessed with. I take photos of even the most insignificant things and turn them into these unbelievable images.
That is why I felt after that hiatus from oppo, I needed to go back to owning it because the images from it’s camera is a sight to behold. So I got myself the Oppo Reno 8. I don’t think I am ever looking back.
Recently, at a friend’s birthday party inside a full club at night with everyone getting out their phones to capture the moment, someone came to me and asked me with wonder, “what phone is that?”
I told them. “Unbelievable,” they uttered in awe. “That’s a badass camera right there.”
“I know, that is why I bought it,” I answered proudly almost with a smirk on my face as they walked away laughing.
If ever a person needed validation for a gadget they bought, that was it right there.
So, you can call us oppo users peasants all you want out there, but let me tell you something; you don’t know what you are missing out on.
