Samsung Electronics East Africa is expanding its retail footprint in Kenya with the opening of its 24th Samsung Experience Store (SES) at Naivas Mall in Kisii, strengthening the company’s presence in one of the country’s growing commercial centres.
The new outlet, operated by Samsung EIP partner Nexora Agencies, brings Samsung’s total number of Brand Stores in Kenya to 26, extending the company’s retail network to more consumers across the country.
The expansion comes as Kisii continues to grow as an important regional commercial centre, supported by a strong agricultural economy, active trade and a growing network of businesses. For Samsung, this growth presents an opportunity to deepen its engagement with consumers and businesses in Kisii and the wider region, while making its portfolio more accessible through a dedicated retail experience.
“Kisii represents an important opportunity for Samsung as we continue to grow our presence across Kenya. The region has a strong economic base, an active consumer market and a growing need for technology that supports how people live, work, learn and do business. Our 24th Samsung Experience Store marks another important step in our retail expansion, bringing Samsung closer to consumers in Kisii while strengthening how we engage with and respond to their evolving needs.
“Our approach is guided by where we see meaningful opportunities to serve consumers, and we will continue to invest in markets where we can bring our products, services and experiences closer to more Kenyans. This is aligned with our philosophy of ‘Innovation for All’ and our commitment to making our technology accessible and relevant across different markets and consumer needs,” said Manish Jangra, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa.
The new store gives consumers in Kisii and neighbouring counties a dedicated environment to experience Samsung’s latest mobile and consumer electronics portfolio, receive product guidance and engage directly with the brand.
The investment also comes against a wider shift in Kenya’s technology landscape. Data from the Communications Authority of Kenya shows that smartphones accounted for 63.7 per cent of mobile devices connected to Kenyan networks by the third quarter of the 2025/26 financial year, while mobile broadband usage continued to increase. The trend points to the growing role of smartphones as tools for communication, financial services, commerce, education and access to information.
For Samsung, expanding its physical retail network is therefore part of a broader effort to strengthen both access to its products and the consumer experience around them. A key part of expanding access to smartphones in Kenya has also been the development of partnerships that address different stages of the consumer journey.
Samsung’s partnership with Watu, a leading asset-financing company, has supported the company’s efforts to make smartphone ownership more attainable for a broader segment of consumers.
“Partnerships are an important part of how we extend our reach and respond to the realities of the Kenyan market,” said George Kebaso, EIP Lead at Samsung Electronics East Africa. “Watu has played an important role in our smartphone penetration journey by helping address one of the barriers consumers can face when acquiring a smartphone: the upfront cost of a device.
“The significance of that access goes beyond owning a device. A smartphone can give consumers greater access to financial services, information, education, commerce and communication, while creating new possibilities for small businesses and individuals to connect with customers and opportunities.”
The opening of the Kisii outlet forms part of Samsung’s continued investment in its Kenyan retail ecosystem, with the company working with its EIP partners to strengthen its presence in markets with growing consumer and business activity.
The Kisii Samsung Experience Store is now open to consumers at Naivas Mall.
