Top Performing Schools in KCSE 2025

The 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results were officially released on January 9, 2026 by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, revealing a strong showing from schools across the country and continuing Kenya’s tradition of academic excellence.

According to the latest figures, 1,932 candidates (about 0.19% of all exam takers) secured a plain A grade, marking a slight increase in top performers compared to the previous year.

  1. Moi High School Kabarak — 10.60
    Based in Nakuru County, Moi High School Kabarak emerged as the top performing school in the 2025 KCSE with a mean score of 10.60, registering 82 plain As among its cohort.
  2. Alliance High School — 10.47
    This mean score underlines its consistent quality of teaching and strong student performance.
  3. Maranda High School — 10.20
    Maranda High School secured another top finish with a mean of 10.20, reflecting the competitive academic environment in Western Kenya.
  4. Nova Pioneer Tatu Boys High School — 10.20
    Nova Pioneer Tatu Boys achieved the same mean score as Maranda, highlighting the growing impact of innovative education models in the country.
