In a city that is constantly on the move, finding a calm, well-connected spot to work from can be an uphill task. Nairobi – fondly referred to as “the capital of Africa” by its young populace – is home to a growing scene of digital nomad-friendly cafés that is perfect for freelancers, remote workers, creatives and side-hustlers alike.

Here are our top five picks for spots that offer just the right ambience for you to chase your deadlines, edit content or zoom across time zones. By ambience we mean fast Wi-Fi, comfortable seating and just the right amount of background buzz

☕ 1. Wasp & Sprout – Loresho

Tucked away in the quiet suburb of Loresho, Wasp & Sprout is a haven for creatives and remote workers. It’s rustic-chic décor, ethically sourced Kenyan coffee and enough power sockets to last you through your 5-hour deep work session are their biggest advantage.

  • Wi-Fi: Reliable and free
  • Vibe: Calm, artistic and eco-conscious
  • Bonus: Their handmade furniture and art pieces are all for sale…… yep. you heard that right.

☕ 4. Artcaffe Market – Rhapta Square, Westlands

Not every Artcaffe is laptop-friendly, but the Artcaffe Market at Rhapta Square is made for digital creatives. 5. Cloud 9 Lounge – Mombasa Road

Cloud 9 Lounge offers a spacious lounge and grill atmosphere suitable for remote work. But unlike the other spots, cloud 9 lounge is less about coffee and more about meals and alcoholic beverages. It opens daily from early morning until late evening (usually till midnight or beyond), and caters to early risers and night owls alike tripadvisor.co.uk+12Waze+12Waze+12.

  • Vibe: Casual and open, with multiple seating areas that feel modern and comfortable.
